Louis Vega Treviño (b. 1972, San Antonio, Texas) is a contemporary artist whose work brings together geometry, color, architecture, design, and abstraction. His practice has developed from a lifelong fascination with line, pattern, structure, and the visual possibilities of color.

Trained in both architecture and art at San Antonio College from 1990 to 1994, Treviño worked as a designer with Kell Muñoz Architects from 1992 to 2000. His architectural background continues to influence his approach to composition, spatial relationships, precision, and geometric form.

A distinctive part of Treviño’s artistic history is his extensive collection of drawings made on cocktail napkins. What began as spontaneous, everyday sketches developed into a vast visual library of geometric patterns and ideas that informed his paintings, drawings, textiles, carpet designs, sculpture, and public art. Sources describe the collection as numbering in the tens of thousands, with his designs later translated into large-scale installations and architectural applications.

Treviño’s designs have also moved beyond the traditional gallery setting into large-scale public and architectural applications, including building facades in San Antonio’s Main Plaza and projects for the San Antonio Convention Center. His work has been exhibited at venues including Blue Star Contemporary Art Center, Mexic-Arte Museum, Rockport Center for the Arts, and Rosenbaum Contemporary. He lives and maintains his studio in San Antonio, Texas.
