The public is invited to join VC's Museum of the Coastal Bend for a John W. Stormont Lecture featuring "An Interview with Louise S. O'Connor."

Louise O'Connor is the author of "Cryin’ for Daylight: A Ranching Culture in the Texas Coastal Bend" and other titles.

Louise O'Connor was born in Victoria, Texas, and is a fifth-generation member of the O'Connor family, which has been ranching in the Texas Coastal Bend since 1836. She is the author of multiple books about the history and ranching culture of the Texas Coastal Bend, many incorporating her own photographs. Her photographic portraits of African American cowboys of the Coastal Bend region have been exhibited at the Briscoe Center for American History and other museums. O’Connor lives on her ranch in Victoria County, Texas.

This presentation is scheduled in conjunction with the museum's Texas Independence Day Book Festival. The presentation and book festival are free and open to the public.
