VP Finalist Forum: Mr. Martin Ramirez

Victoria College invites the community to meet the Vice President of Student Services finalists and share feedback. Each forum will be from 1-2 p.m. in the Event Hall in VC's Student Success Center.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

Mr. Martin Ramirez serves as Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Colorado Mountain College–Leadville, where he oversees recruitment and admissions, residential life, academic advising, student support services, and work-based learning, along with Student Affairs operations and budget management. His work focuses on improving the student experience and helping students access the resources and support they need to succeed.

Prior to joining Colorado Mountain College, Martin worked at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), where his experience included Early College High School initiatives, college access, academic advising, and student affairs within professional health education programs. His work across rural community college and Hispanic-Serving Institution environments has shaped his collaborative approach to student affairs leadership.

As a first-generation college graduate, Martin's own educational journey informs his commitment to expanding access, removing barriers, and helping students feel supported and connected throughout their college experience.

Martin earned a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Texas Tech University in 2022. He is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership at the University of Arizona, with an anticipated completion date of May 2027. His research examines the role of Early College High School experiences in shaping graduate educational attainment among first-generation Latino students.
