This permanent exhibit examines the last 13,000 years of Texas history, from the first inhabitants of the Coastal Bend region through the French, Spanish, and Mexican colonial efforts. Through artifacts, interpretive panels, and photographs, the exhibit celebrates the diverse influences that have created the modern Texan culture. Expanded exhibits on the Spanish legacy open in November 2025. Discover early trails of Native Americans and Spanish trade routes.
